Town was founded and granted municipal rights in the 14th century. Before World War II there were around 25.000 Jews in Tarnow, which was around half the population of the town. Jews lived in Tarnow from the Middle Ages till the outbreak of the second world war. All Jews from Tarnow were murdered by Nazi Germans or were send to death camps.

Tour includes historic town center with preserved charming streets, main square with it's burger renaissance houses and gothic-renaissance town hall. An Important part of this tour is dedicated to Jewish community history.
